I would like to see a competition committee for the entire league. A group of representatives from each area that can clearly define rules for division winners, teams moving up or down through the ranks etc.

A) I believe it would be nice if the MMDL could craft an official policy about the relative weight of 'Convenience' (travel) vs. 'Competition' in creating divisions. The MMDL now has a sizable database of player win-loss and team win-loss information over the course of several years. This information might be taken into better account when making decisions about what division teams will be playing in. If this would cause more problems than it would solve then the league needs to be clear that the most important criterion for creating divisions is travel and NOT competition. Teams might then put in requests for areas to play in/geographic locations and a range of divisions (A-B/C-D or E) with priority going to geography and expected 'competition' a secondary and much more loosely defined consideration.

B) It's also fairly clear that in most cases the 'A'-'E' designations are not terribly helpful as they don't correspond to any stated level of proficiency on a team or individual level. What do these categories really 'mean'? If there was some way to clarify this it might help eliminate the great amount of ambiguity in claiming one shooter or team is 'E' while another is 'C' which can lead to unreasonable expectations. If the categories with which you try to understand a situation are only hazily understood or not understood at all than frustration and confusion are sure to follow.

Thanks for a great tournament on Sunday. I did poorly but was great to meet alot of new people and watch some really great dart matches.
